Meet Rita
the founder
As a lifelong learner who finds endless joy in planning and organizing nearly anything, I suppose I should have known event planning was my calling from a young age. But it wasn’t until I’d left a job working in HR for a Fortune 500 company, had my second baby, and—in an effort to get back into the professional world—jumped at the opportunity to help plan my niece’s wedding that I officially found my life’s passion.
I couldn’t get enough of the process of orchestrating complicated logistics and bringing what was once merely an idea to life in a meaningful and memorable way. So, in 2000, I followed my passion and founded Premier Planning Services—and the rest, as they say, is party-planning history.

I’ve since had the incredible fortune of working with hundreds of beautiful couples, business leaders, and busy moms—and nothing quite compares to the reward I get from giving my clients and their guests the gift of once-in-a-lifetime memories through an experience-rich event.
In my 20 years as an event planner, there isn’t a stressful situation I haven’t had to navigate gracefully (from last-minute weather woes to a global pandemic)—but, through it all, I lean into my innate patience, natural ability to listen, and knack for remaining a calming presence to support my clients and ensure their vision unfolds seamlessly.

As someone who’s always been interested in and inspired by art, my favorite part of planning lies in translating a couple’s style and story into thoughtful design. From flowers and tablescape to color palette and music, I view every facet of an event as an opportunity to share and celebrate your love story in a way that’s both original and honest.
With two decades’ of project-management experience and 8 years spent as a wedding photographer, I work to merge my creative side with my analytical ability—pairing imagination with organization, and artistry with intention. I love listening to my clients’ dreams for their day, and I live for the moment I first meet a couple and start mining meticulously for the gems that have potential to play a part in their celebration.

I earned my BA in graphic design, studio art, and art history from the University of Minnesota, completed my professional event planning coursework in 2002, and am certified by the International Institute of Weddings. When I’m not working one-on-one with clients, you can find me enjoying overseas adventures or relaxing with a book.
